Kovács, Lehel: Around ​the World in 80 Days - With Streetview Sketches

For me one of the most relaxing activities on the internet is scrolling through the street view feature of google maps, and combining this with sketching the sightings is pure mindfulness. Some of you might remember this project from a few years ago, when I produced a postcard set from this series. Since then I have been hoping that one day I can publish it as a book.

Following the same route as in Jules Verne’s “Around the World in Eighty Days” the book is kind of like a virtual travel journal with some of the sketches showing the exact locations that are mentioned in the book, for example the Reform Club, the Savile Row 7 or Charing Cross Station in London, Le Gare du Nord in Paris, International Hotel in San Francisco or Broome Street in New York. Others are close to railway stations and harbours.
